While Valentine’s Day is celebrated in most countries, different cultures have developed their own traditions for this festival. In some parts of the world Valentine’s Day is observed as a day for expressing love between family members and friends, rather than that of romantic couples. Some traditions include leaving lollies and gifts for children and others include acts of appreciation between friends.

Here’s a little gist, which I would love to share with you guys about how my Valentine’s Day went across!

Since Valentine’s consists of all the red roses, chocolates, special and customized gifts, scented candles, ribbons and what not? That’s how every girl fantasizes her valentine’s to be, with her life partner!

So, me and my husband, like every year celebrated this day like every usual couple does. But I guess, 2021 is like a little mixed with a hurricane already. We were planning for this day prior 10 days! Amidst which we both celebrated the entire valentine week like a teenage couple, I know it’s funny and a cliche but you only live once, so why not? 😁

Take a moment, let’s rewind. It’s not always sweet and fun as you are imagining, the funniest and the deadliest thing happened is, 14th February, when the actual day is for the celebration, my husband forgot it and it slipped his mind! 😂😶

I waited the entire day for him to come back home or maybe wish me with a surprise, but not everything you expect happens! Men being men, he actually forgot to wish me and henceforth all our plans went in vein. I moved out of the house in anger for a little retail-therapy which heals, for every girl, yes you got that right, I went shopping to escape the escapade he made!

*Sigh*

The best part I would like to share is, when I came home, it was like a combination of the best and the worst surprise I saw! I was after him for a couple of days to clean the crockeries, fans and all the dust being accumulated over a long time! He whispered into my ears, “I cleaned everything” And, my partner actually did that!! I know, it’s quite funny but imagine, someone who is so obsessed with having to see a cleaner and mess-free house, has now explored the entire house fully scented.

The gift he got for me was hidden with a note on the fridge saying “Turn around, to see a Jewel, for my Jewel”. It was the best surprise, as he proposed to me with a ring AGAIN, on Valentines day for the first time after years of getting married!🥰

Later, we all including my children went to have dinner at one of the prettiest restaurants nearby! Everything was going all fun and cozy, just like I imagined, until my youngest flower- Vyom, being the naughtiest one, decides to play with a fork until the food comes in… and yet again the candles kept for decoration on our reserved table were spoiled..🤦🏻‍♀️

We kept on laughing for no reason, although this was the best and the cutest valentine’s day I have ever experienced!

Suggestion for all the couples out there: Cupid is stupid..

Suggestion for all the parents out there: No offense, but I brought my kids to a romantic restaurant on Valentine’s day, I would like to remind y’all, don’t forget to take birth control measures, the next time! 😂🙈

Note: It’s not important to spend a Valentine’s day or a week with your life partner only, it’s made to celebrate with your loved ones which could be your friends, family or whosoever!
Spread love and love shall come back to you!
